What is your skate name and number?
Dairy
Heir 362
What is the significance of your name and number?
When
I met my fiancé his family owned a dairy farm which I eventually made my home
and have dreams of having our own dairy farm one day. 362 was the number of my
favorite cow, she was super sweet and loved getting scratched behind her ears.
How did you get started playing roller derby?
I
had a friend that had started a league in Orange County and talked me into
coming to a practice one night and I was sucked in.
How long have you been skating?
I
would have to say it was the summer of 2006 in Orange County. I took a year or
so off after moving to Vegas, but after running into some SCRG girls at a down
and derby event in early 2009 I came back and have stuck with Sin City since.
What is your favorite derby position to play?
I
love blocking. Especially when I can hear the jammer on my back frustrated and
huffing and puffing and sometimes cursing under their breath. It gives me an
extra burst of confidence.
What is your greatest derby achievement so far?
I
would say it is also the hardest part of my derby career, coming back after
tearing my ACL and having to have surgery. Not being able to skate physically
made me great full for every practice I can skate now and not taking my skills
for granted.
What is your favorite part of skating with Sin City Rollergirls?
I
love my league. Not just my amazing and hardworking travel team or fun glittery
home team but every skater, referee, NSO, and volunteers and anyone else who
has helped SCRG become what it is.
Do you have a derby crush? Who is it?
It
tough because there are so many awesome skaters out there but I would have to
say my jaw dropped after watching Sandrine Rangeon of DRD at championships this
last season. She is the whole package a great attitude, great skating skills
and great teamwork. And she is so much fun to watch.
What is your day job?
I
am a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Who is the biggest influence in your life?
My
mom; she has always taught me to be me and to work hard to reach my goals. She
has also believed in me no matter what.
What is the strangest thing in your purse or wallet right now?
Someone
else's comb- I found it in our hotel room in Tucson after dust devil. If it’s
yours let me know -it misses its home.
Tell us one thing about yourself that we wouldn't expect...
My
real last name is of Filipino descent.
